What Counts as an Emergency
You don't need a reason to call at night. But these are the calls that shouldn't wait until morning:
- No cooling when it's over 90 outside, especially with a baby, an older person or someone sick at home
- Water pouring from the indoor unit or through a ceiling
- A burning smell, smoke or sparks from either unit
- No heat when it's going to drop below freezing
- A gas smell near the furnace. Leave the house first and call the gas company from outside, then call us.
If someone at home is elderly, very young or has a health condition, tell us when you call.
What to Do While You Wait
- Check the breaker. Reset a tripped one once. If it trips again, leave it off.
- Look for ice. If the copper lines or the indoor coil are frozen, turn the system off and set the fan to On so the ice melts completely, which can take several hours. Running it frozen can wreck the compressor, and our repair guide explains why an AC freezes up.
- Check the drain. Many systems shut themselves off when the drain pan fills. A clogged drain line is a common midnight call.
- Keep the heat out. Close the blinds on the sunny side, run ceiling fans, and keep doors shut to the rooms you're not using.
- Stay cool. Drink water, and if the house gets dangerously hot, go somewhere with AC until the tech arrives.
24 Hour Heating Repair Too
The same number works in winter. A furnace that won't light on a freezing night, a heat pump that's iced over and blowing cold air, or a breaker that keeps tripping on the heat strips: we handle 24 hour heating and air conditioning repair, for every brand. If the heat is what's out, heating and furnace repair covers the checks to run before you call.
What an Emergency Visit Costs
The tech finds the problem first, then tells you what's wrong and what the repair costs, and nothing happens until you say yes. Most fixes, like capacitors, contactors, fan motors and drain clogs, use parts we carry on the truck, so the AC is usually running again before the tech leaves. If a part has to be ordered, we'll tell you how long, and what we can do in the meantime.
Big repairs qualify for HVAC financing, or you can pay with cash, credit or debit.

Emergency AC Repair Questions
Do you offer 24/7 emergency AC repair?
Yes. Our 24/7 emergency service runs seven days a week, nights and weekends included. We'll tell you on that call when a tech can be there, and we call or text when the tech is on the way. If you smell gas, leave the house right away. Once you're outside, call your gas utility's emergency number or 911.
How fast can someone get here?
It depends on how many calls came in ahead of yours, and in a July heat wave that can be a lot. Whatever the wait is, you'll hear it from us on that first call.
My AC is running but the house keeps getting hotter. Is that an emergency?
What if my system can't be fixed?
Then we'll give you a free, written, itemized estimate on a new one, so you can see the price before you commit to HVAC installation.
AC Out Right Now?
If the house is heating up fast, say so when you call, and we'll give you a time on that call.
